Candied orange peel
Hello to all, at Christmas gave me the delicious organic oranges and very fragrant, and I was sorry to throw the peel, also because i find it hard to where I live sofragrant, so I decided to candy them.
This recipe is from a few years that I prepare and also satisfies the conservation, last year I lasted until May, but because I finished!
ingredients:
peel oranges, mine were 6
sugar and water enough
Cut the peel into strips big enough, if the white part should be bigger than the one in the picture remove some
put them in a bowl and wash them
Now be boiled three times starting with cold water.
Put them in a large pot and cover with cold water
when the bubbles begin to form
drain and put back into pot adding water
hours weigh
and add an equal amount of sugar
and water
Put them on the stove over high heat, it will take at least a half hour of cooking
when you see that the water is falling down the heat
and always mix
to condense all the moisture being careful not caramellarle
so they are ready, all the water has been absorbed
hours rather wide arrange on a sheet of wax paper and allow to dry overnight
here as they appeared this morning, if they were still wet roll them in sugar, mine were so perfect.
They can be eaten as is or just bathe them in the chocolate into pieces and storethem in the next post I will explain better!
